Early Careers
Our DraftKings Campus Program

The internship you choose can significantly shape the start of your career. We know the most rewarding internships allow you to work on real projects, collaborate with mentors who invest in your growth, and be a team player who makes an impact in a short period of time. That’s the experience we create through our internship programs around the world.
What does our internship program actually look like over the course of a summer? We asked our interns to give us an inside look at their experience.
Yana, Data Analyst Intern - Boston, Massachusetts
As a Data Analyst Intern on our VIP team, Yana spent her summer working on diving deeper into team insights. Her project gave her something she hadn't experienced before: real ownership.
"What I'm most proud of this summer is that I learned how to take initiative," Yana explained. She presented her work to leadership and stakeholders, gathered feedback, and continued building her data storytelling skills.
Yana said this was exactly the kind of experience she hoped to find when she joined. She wanted her experience to be centered on learning and doing the work that made an impact. She felt the insights she crafted were valued and that the team would continue to use her analysis across future projects.
For Yana, the work was critical to honing her skills, but she also wanted to intern at a company with a vibrant culture where people cared about connection and collaboration.
"Not only were the interns super social and so awesome,” Yana said. “But my team was also so welcoming and super inclusive." From spending time together in the office to heading to Fenway Park for a Red Sox game, her relationships quickly grew, and she was able to finish the internship with a few new friends and an experience she’ll be leaning on for years to come.
Georgi, Software Engineering Intern - Sofia, Bulgaria
Georgi spent his summer with our Engineering team, focusing on our internal software, gaining experience beyond just practice projects. He worked alongside three other interns to build an internal tool designed to help his team work more efficiently. He was thrilled to take on much of the DevOps work himself and to contribute to production code.
"I really enjoyed the fact that I could work on an actual team and solve real problems, and not just mock projects," Georgi said.
Georgi shared he had plenty of opportunities to learn. He gained hands-on experience navigating a large tech stack, extensive automation, and a scale he’d never experienced before. He gained access to many different AI tools, using it to deepen his understanding rather than simply searching for answers.
"Instead of using AI as a vending machine for answers,” Georgi explained, “I used it as my own personal tutor so that it guided me to a solution instead of just spitting answers out for me."
With a lot of new material to absorb in a short period, Georgi could also rely on his teammates when he needed more context. Every intern is paired with a mentor who is dedicated to supporting them throughout the program - whether that’s through project work or career advice. Georgi said having his mentor there for him was a main factor in his growth and development.
Rahul, Software Engineering Intern - Boston, Massachusetts
Rahul joined the Account Platforms team as a Software Engineering Intern and spent much of his summer working on improvements to a specific workstream flow.
His responsibility was to understand an existing API, evaluate potential improvements, and determine which changes could have the greatest impact. He worked with technologies including Kafka, SQS and Kubernetes, several of which he was working with for the first time.
Given Rahul’s interest in backend engineering, being able to access and understand DraftKings’ new and legacy services was incredibly valuable. What really exceeded his expectations was his ability to implement new technology and work with AI tools.
“Making these enterprise-level solutions really changed how I thought about engineering and programming,” Rahul added.
Rahul was very thankful for the collaboration within his team. He enjoyed the balance of bouncing ideas off his teammates while also pushing himself to think differently and discover new ways to solve tech problems.
“If you want to be challenged and also learn a lot, I feel like DraftKings is a really good place for you.”

See What You Can Do During Your Internship
Yana, Georgi, and Rahul spent their summers on different teams and in different countries, but they each walked away with something in common: they took on real work and discovered what they can accomplish.
They built skills through projects that challenged them. Connected with mentors and teammates when they needed another perspective. Attended fun events and spent time with their cohort, building connections beyond the peers they work with every day.
This is what the DraftKings Campus Program is all about. You’ll build on what you already know by asking questions, experimenting, seeking feedback, and challenging yourself beyond what you thought possible.
