Sportsbook Floor Security Lead

The Sportsbook Floor Security Lead will be responsible for positively impacting the safety and security of company assets, including guests and DraftKings Team Members, while maintaining guest satisfaction. Responding to guest issues and keeping them safe will make an impact on the success of the Security staff and the DraftKings community as a whole.

What you’ll do as the Sportsbook Floor Security Lead:

  • Manage a team of Sportsbook Floor Security Representatives

  • Handle all scheduling and time-off processes for the Sportsbook security team members

  • Serve as primary point of contact for non-security personnel on security related issues

  • Ensure all incidents are appropriately documented and completed in a timely manner

  • Patrol Sportsbook to ensure a safe and respectful establishment and workplace. Ensure the security of doors, equipment, and people. 

  • Direct visitors and vendors to appropriate locations. 

  • Escort the transfer of monies from one area to another.

  • Observe and report procedural violations, rule infractions, and illegal activity; notify management when necessary.

  • Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards and security doors left unlocked.

  • Document property damage, theft, fraud, burglaries, the identification of weapons, unusual occurrences, patron or employee injury, and underage entries.

  • Communicate with other Security and Surveillance personnel and the Global Security Operations Center via two-way radios and/or telephone.

  • Manage the team’s response to patron disputes, aggressive behavior incidents, intoxicated patrons, medical incidents, and accidents, fire alarms and other life safety matters.

  • May be required to render medical first aid. 

  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner which reflects positively on the company.

  • Attend and administer required training as defined by management.  

  • Work directly with government regulators and law enforcement personnel.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • This role will follow a varied work schedule at the sportsbook where nights, holidays, and weekend work will be required.

What you’ll bring: 

  • College degree or equivalent experience, Criminal Justice background a plus

  • 3+ years of management experience in a physical security environment

  • Restaurant experience is a plus

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively speak before groups of guests or associates

  • Experience creating and maintaining employee schedules

  • Experience managing a team

  • Ability to obtain Basic First Aid (CPR, AED) certification

  • Ability to work varied shifts, to include nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Obtain all required license(s) including the Illinois Gaming Board

  • Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for the entire length of shift, stand at assigned posts, and walk up and down stairs frequently.

    • Ability to bend, climb, stoop, grasp, handle, lift and carry up to 35 pounds, reach, and push.

    • Visual ability to identify potential security violations.

    • Hearing ability to respond to spoken voice and audible alarms.

The US hourly rate for this full-time position is $25.60 - $38.40, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
