Senior Lead Software Engineer

DraftKings is growing quickly and we’re looking for a Senior Lead Software Engineer (Sports Book API Unit) to help establish and lead a team centered around the mission of providing a best-in-class experience for our customers. This position requires strong technical skills and a bias toward collaboration. You will be working across teams, informing business decisions, and helping to expand our enterprise software platform.

You will work together with Delivery Manager and R&D Manager and can count on their support and help with tricky questions.

During your work activities, you will play a so-called Servant Leader role for a couple of teams inside one of the DraftKings units. The unit is deeply integrated into the company’s structure, so your day-to-day work will include interactions with people all around the company and requires mature skills in communication and planning. What you’ll do as a Lead Software Engineer:

  • Lead the implementation and support of technical solutions;

  • Manage your team's software development life cycle — requirements gathering, planning, architectural design, implementation, code review, testing and deployment;

  • Adhere to quality standards and working procedures;

  • Initiate improvements and adjust development methodology;

  • Distribute expertise and skills amongst teammates;

  • Support and evolve the technical documentation;

  • Ensure and provision the quality of the developed solutions on production.

What you’ll bring: 

  • Excellent knowledge of C# (Core framework experience)

  • Practical experience with TPL, async, concurrent data structures, immutable data structures

  • Profiling and optimizations, GC and memory management

  • Working experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, scale options, availability, eventual consistency

  • Can design REST services, implement pull and push(WebSocket, SSE) approaches

  • Understanding of large scale, distributed systems, microservices architecture, business transactions

  • Experience building event-driven architectures: messaging, consumer patterns, CQRS, Event Sourcing

  • Experience in implementing telemetry, business and technical metrics, distributed tracing

  • Ability to "challenge" architecture and design, propose improvements

  • Understanding of Automation processes related to R&D cycle

  • You enjoy working with intelligent and energetic teams of people

  • Good English both verbal and written
