Senior Accountant

DraftKings is now seeking a Senior Accountant due to recent expansion and rapid growth. If you are motivated and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the role for you! The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the Finance Function, reporting directly to the Accounting Senior Manager. As the Finance team scales, you will be tasked with executing and refining newly implemented controls, improving the month end process and related reconciliations, and assisting with all aspect of General Ledger maintenance.

What you’ll do as a Senior Accountant:

  • Play a lead role in the financial statement close process by preparing journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and related analyses for management

  • Own high visibility accounting areas including cost of revenue, intangibles, software capitalization, and other related accruals

  • Ensure proper accounting under US GAAP for new agreements with gaming partners and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure complete and accurate accruals

  • Serve as primary contact with FP&A team to ensure all account activity by cost center is provided for internal reporting

  • Create and maintain clear documentation of control processes and procedures to support annual audits, responding to audit requests to support SOX and financial statement audits

  • Create other miscellaneous analytics as part of monthly close (i.e. operational taxes, data fees and other accounting matters)

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5 years accounting experience (public audit/public industry mix preferred)

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting (CPA preferred)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required

  • Strong documentation and written communication skills specifically around COSO framework, SOX-404 controls and experience identifying and documenting control processes

  • Advanced excel skills with the ability to manipulate data and present in a user-friendly format

  • Strong verbal communication skills and a no task too small attitude

  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus

  • E-Commerce or Software industry experience a plus
