Manager, Consumer Insights

We put the fan at the center of everything we do, so we’re looking for a consumer-focused Consumer Insights Manager to join our team. This person will focus on building a customer centric strategy for the biggest moments across product verticals. This person will help us uncover consumer insights and translate them to opportunities across the entire marketing funnel so that DraftKings is seen as one of the most innovative, meaningful and customer-focused brands in the industry. You will be a member of the Integrated Marketing team and report directly to the Director, Integrated Marketing & Insights. This is a new function, where you will be required to define, build, and champion scalable and nimble market research solutions, tools, and processes; while fielding high-priority research requests in parallel. This person will use data to make key strategic business recommendations that drive value for customers and guide stakeholder decisions. What you’ll do as a Consumer Insights Manager:

  • Own and manage the research frameworks, consumer messaging strategy, and audience insights for the biggest sporting moments and product launches throughout the year, like Super Bowl, March Madness, and the launch of our NFT marketplace

  • Design questionnaires and discussion guides, lead focus groups, interpret data, write reports, and communicate actionable recommendations across all levels of the organization

  • Leverage internal and external resources, including use of qualitative and quantitative research to generate insights that inspire DraftKings’ integrated marketing plan, creative strategy, and promotional approach.

  • Manage allocation of the consumer insights research budget, including evaluation of pertinent third party agencies and external database access. 

  • Analyze disparate data sets and connect the dots to craft meaningful narratives that help DraftKings anticipate industry and customer trends. Partner with the analytics team to ensure insights are grounded in internal customer data.

  • This role will be responsible for developing the consumer insights team, including setting team goals, future hiring plan, and grooming direct reports.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in marketing research, consumer research, consulting or related field

  • 2+ years of management experience including developing associates

  • Hands-on experience planning and executing consumer research projects across qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Significant experience in gathering insights via panels and customer interviews is a must. 

  • You embrace a day-to-day flex between strategic thinking and hands-on execution

  • Academic and practical experience with a wide array of new product, sensory, brand, advertising and customer satisfaction research methodologies

  • You have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and creative agencies finding relevant insights to inform and optimize campaigns 

  • You have experience managing a research budget and directing outside agencies

  • You have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to deliver actionable insights that can inform strategy and drive business results

  • You are a team player with strong project management skills, motivated to build internal confidence and alignment

  • Knowledge of and experience with Web 3.0, Daily Fantasy, Online Casinos, and/or Sportsbook is preferred
