Lead Incident and Problem Manager

Building the possibilities.

As a Lead Incident and Problem Manager, you will be responsible for tracking and coordinating production incidents, defining production incident mitigation strategies, reporting production incident trends to engineering leadership and other key company stakeholders, and developing best practices for the engineering team to follow. The team provides 24/7 coverage with an on-call rotation. We are looking for an experienced Incident & Problem Manager to join the team and strengthen the problem management operations at DraftKings. 

What you'll do as a Lead Incident and Problem Manager:

  • Acting as Incident Commander, providing coordination throughout the incident restoration process (high priority incidents)

  • Provide visibility (customer impact, action items, estimations, etc.) for the company key stakeholders during the lifecycle of an incident

  • Ensure Incident and Problem Management best practices are maintained within DraftKings engineering organization

  • Help drive the post-incident investigation conversation with DraftKings Engineering

  • Help to continuously define and improve the Incident Response Process for DraftKings Engineering

  • Continuously monitoring and updating the roadmap priorities with management

  • Work with leadership to help define standards for incident mitigation

What you'll bring:

  • Help to solve complex problems with information technology software and hardware with a high level of autonomy 

  • Maintain incident logs and process incident reports for review with management

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Develop procedural runbooks for various Production Incident resolutions

  • Ability to translate high-level objectives into tactical tasks that can be executed upon

  • Familiarity with PagerDuty and Atlassian products is a plus

  • Proficient in MS Excel is an advantage
