We’re growing rapidly and are searching for a Fraud Specialist to work on front-line fraud investigations related to cryptocurrency, blockchain, and the NFT Marketplace for DraftKings.  Through trend analysis, prevention recommendation, and loss reduction, you will collaborate with team leads and make a real impact on our increasingly global business.  You’ll ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and best practices and work with our product and customer experience teams to drive Fraud based team initiatives.  Sound good to you? What you’ll do as Fraud Specialist:

  • Identify and support the day-to-day fraud and money laundering risk, and ensuing investigations related to cryptocurrency, the blockchain, and our growing NFT Marketplace are executed effectively.

  • Advise the Fraud Investigations team on fraud patterns, emerging trends, and typologies related to NFT and crypto transactions.

  • Conduct investigations of escalated alerts and cases of potentially suspicious activity and potential fraud across DraftKings core verticals.

  • Review player deposit and withdrawal transactions for potential fraud to ensure DraftKings' credit card merchant accounts are correctly maintained.

  • Ability to execute SQL queries to extract critical information to perform data mining and ad-hoc reviews for daily monitoring. 

  • Maintain knowledge of the upcoming industry and product risks, regulatory changes, emerging risks, and trends.

  • Provide recommendations supported by data in implementing new fraud alerts and controls.

  • Compile SARs and Fraud reports to the relevant regulatory bodies and partners.

  • Assist Regulatory Operations, Compliance, and other internal teams with ad hoc requests and additional fraud reviews as needed. 

  • Support the discovery, containment, and prevention of Fraud and Abuse Groups.

 What you’ll bring:   

  • In-depth knowledge of fraud and money laundering identification and prevention within the Cryptocurrency space working in fraud investigations with experience in crypto/blockchain

  • At least two years of experience working in a financial environment within a Financial Crimes Unit or e-commerce company.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and analytical thinker with a desire to thoroughly investigate potentially fraudulent customer behavior.

  • An investigative curiosity with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate vision across the organization.

  • Experience with fraud and money laundering related to Crypto Wallet movements.

  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency investigation and transaction monitoring tools, and the proven ability to trace transactions through the blockchain. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to operate across multiple departments with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Basic SQL experience is required, Intermediate experience is preferred.

  • Competence with Zendesk & Microsoft Office product suite. Intermediate Excel skills are preferred but not required.

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is preferred.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or Sociology will be considered a plus.

  • Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and gaming regulations.
