Data Engineer (Games)

We’re growing quickly and are searching for a Senior Analytics Engineer to act as a creative contributor, leader, and mentor to our data analysis and scalability processes. You will use your experience and expertise to provide key insights that help us make data-driven decisions. Analytical thinking drives our business and when you join our team, you’ll not only solve new problems every day, you’ll see your data solutions immediately improve our users’ experience.

What you’ll do as a Senior Analytics Engineer at DraftKings:

  • Design and create data sets to support stakeholders across Draftkings

  • Work with teams across Draftkings to design data models that allow our stakeholders to answer their questions and derive key business insights

  • Build, orchestrate, test, and maintain data transformations of application data into analytics models

  • Apply software engineering best practices to our analytics code base

  • Mentor junior team members, ensuring Draftkings implements data best practices

What you'll bring:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with ELT pipelines, data transformation, and modeling

  • Day-to-day writing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL code; preferably working with cloud MPP data warehouse platforms (e.g. Snowflake).

  • Experience with data modeling and transformation; working with business partners to understand and incorporate complex domain knowledge into analytics data models.

  • Expert in building robust, repeatable data transformations with actionable monitoring and alerting

  • Accomplished in applying software engineering best practices to analytics code using tools like Bitbucket, Github, Octo, etc.

  • Experience working in an agile environment with a mix of in-person and remote teammates and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

  • Capable of designing, interpreting, and maintaining technical documentation for both upstream software engineering and downstream analytics, reporting, and data science stakeholder consumption.’

  • Experience with any of the following tools and technologies: Snowflake, Airflow, Python, AWS S3, AWS Lambda, AWS Batch, Terraform, Kafka, MySQL, Tableau, PagerDuty, DataDog, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Alation

  • Experience working in a SOX controlled Software Development Life Cycle.

  • i-Gaming industry experience is a plus.

This position can sit in either Boston or remote; however, this work is to be performed entirely outside of Colorado.
